Kansas City Zoo

This past weekend the boys were blessed enough to go on another short vacation with Nanna Van Zee, Angie and Nancy. They got to go the Kansas City Zoo and stay overnight at a Hotel for two nights. They were very excited to go and had a great time! Mitchell and Connor got to see all the animals and even got to ride on the train that went over a real regular (and used) train track! Mitchell even learned how to make a semi honk his horn on the way home by sticking out his arm out the window and giving him the signal! He thought that was pretty cool! Mitchell and Connor are very blessed to have such great aunts and grandparents that enjoy spending time with them! A big THANK YOU to Angie and Nancy for taking them!

Fall Pictures

Every year I always enjoy taking pictures of the boys by pumpkins or by the corn. Today was their lucky day and they were less than thrilled to do this for me. I had to bribe them with candy bars in order for them to cooperate! I did manage to get some awesome pictures of them though, so I was thrilled! Elden always feels sorry for the boys to have to go through such
"torture" of taking pictures !)

Home Projects

The boys watching Daddy dig! They were pretty excited!

Elden brought the backhoe home last week with the semi and worked on getting part of the creek beside our home cleaned out. He has wanted to do this all summer, and since harvest is starting alittle late this year, he has time to work on some home projects. He had a hard time getting of the bigger trees with the backhoe so he had to use the chain saw to cut it down. He was glad to get his shop finished and get the creek cleaned out. Now he can focus on getting the crops out!

Connor

Connor was willing to take some pictures the other day, so I took advantage of it. Here are some of the pictures I captured with him. I will remember this day when he's all grown up :(

My Little Cleaner!

Connor always likes to do things that I do. As many of you mom's can relate, you are always being watched and copied. On Thursdays, I always try to clean the house and of course, when I got my vacuum out, Connor had to get his vacuum out! The best thing about this is that Connor's vacuum actually works, so he is actually doing good by helping! I had Mitchell take some pictures of us vacumming together.

Riding 4-Wheelers

Mitchell is loving riding his four wheeler especially when Daddy rides his big four wheeler with him so that they can race together! Here are a few pictures of them together!

Lake Rathbun

Mitchell was the only one daring enough to get into that COLD water!

Mitchell wanting to take us for a drive!
"Brrr, that's water is FREEZING!"

We had a great Labor Day weekend as a family. On Saturday night, Elden and I got the chance to go to the Truck races at the Iowa Speedway and we had a great time there! There was a lot more people there than I expected there to be. After a few crashes in the beginning, the drivers figured out how the track was laid out and didn't have anymore crashes. On Sunday we went to the river with our dog and wadded in the water on that hot afternoon. The water was a little chilly, but everyone got use to it and had fun! Then on Monday we headed to Lake Rathbun. We have been wanting to go there all summer, and it finally worked out to go. We invited Elden's family to go with us for one last Ha rah for the summer! It was a little cold in the morning (OK, we were freezing) but finally the warm sun came out and it ended up being a great afternoon. Here are a few pictures of our trip to the lake. I hope everyone else had an enjoyable weekend as well!

1st Day of Preschool

Mitchell enjoying his school house shaped pancake!

It's hard to believe that our Mitchell is in preschool already. Mitchell was looking forward to this day for a long time. I, on the other hand was sad that he's getting this old. But Mitchell will enjoy preschool and loves to learn new things! Elden and I are looking forward to hearing all about his days at preschool and what he had learned that day. Before Mitchell went to preschool I told him that he was suppose to take turns talking and if the teachers were talking then, he had to be quite and listen. After preschool I asked Mitchell if he talked the whole time, his responce, "I kept on saying Teacher, teacher, teacher and then I remembered what you said about being quite and so then I stopped talking". You know that Mitchell must have been excited about preschool if he was willing to take some pictures!
